I. Introduction to Xiongan Landmark China National Chemical Corporation Tower
The Xiongan China National Chemical Corporation (ChinaChem) Tower is 150 meters high and has recently achieved structural topping out, symbolizing future prosperity for the region. As the first tallest building in Xiongan New Area, the project was completed one month ahead of schedule to celebrate Xiongan’s 7th anniversary.
Inspired by the “Golden Reeds of Baiyangdian”, the tower will serve as the headquarters for ChinaChem, one of the first four central enterprises to relocate to Xiongan New Area. The project site covers 13,047.3 square meters (approx. 20 acres), with a total construction area of 112,000 square meters, including 82,000 square meters above ground and 30,000 square meters underground.
The building design was led by the globally renowned architecture firm SOM, integrating regional natural features with modern aesthetics. The main tower has 33 floors, and the podium building has 5 floors, achieving a harmonious blend of technology, nature, and modern office space.
Located at the core of the Xiongan New Area launch zone, the tower benefits from a dense transportation network, adjacent to intercity stations, the Financial Island, Central Green Valley, and intersected by multiple metro lines (Intercity, Line 1, Line 2, R1). This prime location positions the headquarters as a key business hub and connectivity node.
As one of the first intelligent construction pilot projects in Xiongan, the construction process utilized advanced technologies including steel structure welding robots, laser rust-removal robots, and over ten types of smart equipment. The main structure has been topped out, and the project is scheduled for completion in June 2025.
With a total investment of RMB 2.7 billion, the project reflects Xiongan New Area’s business and financial potential and is a landmark for regional economic growth, employment opportunities, and technological innovation.
